Biography

An experienced energy system modeller, with a focus on sustainable development in the Global South, I have accumulated over 4 years of experience working for different research institutes.

My current work revolves around energy system modelling in the African context, where close collaboration with several African governments is undertaken. The aim is to build the capacity of energy system modelling within various government bodies, enabling them to be better equipped for their future energy system planning.

Furthermore, my expertise in energy system modelling extends beyond national scale applications. I take particular interest in small-scale systems, particularly in the context of mini grids. Here, the demand patterns of the mini-grid customers are analyzed, and the impact of access to electricity on multiple aspects of society, including health, education, and overall quality of life, is assessed.

Beyond my main research, scientific software development has been a domain in which I have excelled, and I have actively contributed to the development of multiple open-source tools.
