Biography

Dr Laresa Kosloff lives and works in Naarm (Melbourne), Australia. She makes performative videos, short films, audio works, and participatory artworks. Her practice examines various representational strategies, each one linked by an interest in the body and its agency within the everyday. Laresa’s research interests include performance to video, humour in art, early cinematic slapstick, Feminism, the performing body in art, participatory art practice, art and activism. Her PhD titled "Slapstick tactics: Staging a Performance of Mimesis in Contemporary Video Art" was a comparative study of early cinematic slapstick and performative video art. Laresa is the Honours Program Manager in the School of Art and works as a Postgraduate Supervisor. She is represented by Sutton Gallery in Melbourne.
