Biography

Sartaj Ul Hasan hails from a remote village in Shahjahanpur district, Uttar Pradesh, located in northern India. He currently serves as an Associate Professor at IIT Jammu. Before joining IIT Jammu, he worked as a Scientist at DRDO, Delhi, from February 2007 to January 2018.

From September 2011 to December 2012, he was a postdoctoral fellow at Carleton University, Canada, where he collaborated with Professors Daniel Panario and Qiang Wang. He earned his Ph.D. in 2010 from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, under the guidance of Professor Sudhir R. Ghorpade.

Dr. Hasan's primary research interests lie in the areas of Finite Fields, Cryptography, and Coding Theory.
