Biography

Marcela Miranda is a postdoctoral researcher at IRTA (Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology) on Postharvest Group in Spain (2022- present). In addition, she has a postdoc period at Sao Paulo University (USP- 2021-2022). Ph.D. in Food and Nutrition, emphasis in Food Sciences at the University of Sao Paulo (UNESP-2020), with a doctoral sandwich period at the U.S. Horticultural Research Laboratory- United States Department of Agriculture in Florida-US (USDA-2018-2019). Collaborator at Embrapa Instrumentation (Post-Harvest Technologies Laboratory 2011-2020). Master’s in biotechnology (2015) and B. Sc in Biology (2012) from the Federal University of Sao Carlos-UFSCar in Brasil. She has experience in the following subjects: teaching natural science and biology, post-harvest conservation; nanostructured fruit coatings; incidence of mechanical damage and food quality; aroma volatiles compounds; post-harvest physicochemical quality, essential oils and nano-emulsion formations, antimicrobial activity particles and biocontrol agents.
