Biography

Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in Cancer and Palliative Care at Queen’s University Belfast and Mohamed Bin Rashid University, Dubai. Working as a clinician, academic and researcher in the field of cancer and palliative care for over 30 years. Researched and published numerous articles on a range of cancer, palliative and end-of-life care issues including, spirituality, symptom management, communication and compassionate leadership. Chair of two European expert groups, Managing Advanced Cancer Pain (MACPT) and European Oral Care in Cancer (EOCC). Frequent key note speaker at national and international meetings. Published articles and book chapters on a range of cancer, leadership, palliative and nursing issues. Member of the All Ireland Palliative Care Research Network. Senior Editorial Board Member of BMC Palliative Care, Consultant Editor Nursing Management.
