Biography
Dr James Smith-Spark is currently an Associate Professor of Psychology in the Division of Psychology, School of Applied Sciences, London South Bank University. He is a cognitive psychologist with a particular interest in cognition in adults with developmental dyslexia. James has published papers on working memory, long-term memory, prospective memory, and executive functioning in adults with dyslexia and has studied cognition in dyslexia under both laboratory and everyday conditions. He gained his PhD from the University of Sheffield in 2000 (supervised by Dr John Fisk, Prof Rod Nicolson, and Prof Angela Fawcett) and worked as a researcher at the University of Manchester, University of Kent at Canterbury, and Cancer Research UK before joining London South Bank University as a Senior Lecturer in 2005. He is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
