Biography

Professor Pardo’s research interests include: volcano geology (mapping and stratigraphy), physical volcanology, explosive volcanology, magma degassing and fragmentation, transitions in eruptive styles, monogenetic and polygenetic volcanism, and social geosciences. In her work, professor Pardo uses techniques such as field mapping, stratigraphy, facies analysis, pyroclastic sequences and sedimentology, quantification of eruptive parameters, 2D and 3D texture analyses, Fourier transforms and infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), electron microprobe (EMPA), and X-Ray micro-tomography.
