Biography

Professor at the Physics Department from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG), Pedro H. M. ANDRADE is a Ph.D. in Physical, Analytical, and Theoretical Chemistry from Université de Lille (France). His doctoral thesis, defended in 2023, earned him the Denise Barthomeuf Award 2024 and the Thesis Award from the French Chemical Society 2023. He holds a bachelor degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from UFMG (2018) and specialised in Materials Optimization and Reliability at École Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Lille (2018) before obtaining his master degree in Metallurgical, Materials, and Mining Engineering at UFMG (2021). His work is primarily focused on solid-state physics, particularly in understanding reaction mechanisms and interactions in condensed matter, exploring the functionality of photoactive chemical systems, and investigating "host-guest" interactions in porous materials. His expertise lies in applying characterization techniques to study dynamics, reactivity, and energy transfer at heterogeneous interfaces.
