Barry Sanders is a Professor at the University of Calgary where he obtained his Bachelors degree. His Masters degree was with Kibble and his PhD was with Knight, both at Imperial College London, and he was a postdoc with Milburn (Australian National University then University of Queensland) and with Gardiner (University of Waikato). For 12 years, Sanders was a professor (Head of Department for six years) at Macquarie University Sydney, then a professor at the University of Calgary since 2003. Sanders is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, the American Physical Society, the Optical Society of America and the Institute of Physics (UK). He is a a 1000-Talent Professor at the University of Science and Technology of China, a VAJRA Visiting Professor at the Raman Research Institute in India, and Editor-in-Chief of the New Journal of Physics.
