Biography

Dr Yu is a Professor of Biomedical Sciences at Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine (JCESOM). Prof Yu’s research focuses on the regulation of bacterial polysaccharides and bacterial pneumonia. He is also interested in bioengineering, synthetic biology, immunology, antimicrobials, and gut microbiota. His laboratory has been accredited with the development of popular genetic tools for bioengineering in bacteria. More recently, Prof Yu’s laboratory produced severely-attenuated bacterial strains for biotechnology purpose.
