Biography
Dr. Ben Zhang is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the City University of Hong Kong, as well as a member of the State Key Laboratory of Terahertz and Millimeter Waves, since March 2025. He was a Doctoral Candidate jointly trained by the Academy of Military Sciences of the Chinese People's Liberation Army and Harbin Engineering University, and received his Ph.D. in Power Engineering and Engineering Thermal Physics from Harbin Engineering University in 2025. Before his postdoctoral appointment, Dr. Zhang served as a Visiting Doctoral Student and Research Assistant at the Department of Electrical Engineering at City University of Hong Kong from November 2023 to February 2025. He was awarded the National Scholarship for Doctoral Students by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China in 2023. Since 2020, Dr. Zhang has been conducting research in Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) technology for Autonomous Underwater Vehicles, focusing on magnetic coupler design, system control methodologies, and the application of WPT systems in seawater environments.
