Biography
Khwaja Mir Islam Saeed has graduated from Kabul Medical University in 2003 and completed his MSc Degree from Aga Khan University in 2006 in Health Policy and Management. Furthermore, he is a FELTP graduate from of NIH Islamabad. He has been working as HMIS officer, director for public health training, director for Disease Early Warning System (DEWS), head of Grant and Contract Management Unit (GCMU) in MoPH. He has contributed in development of many guidelines, strategies and policies in MoPH. He has designed and implemented 7 rounds of Intensive six weeks’ public health trainings in which more than 1500 new graduate health workers trained. He has written a valuable book on “Introduction to Health Management” in local language which is published thrice. He has been involved in more than 50 research articles published mostly on communicable and noncommunicable diseases. Currently he is technical advisor for Field Epidemiology Training Program in Afghanistan (AFETP). Two cohorts are graduated from the program and two cohorts are under training while the cohort 5 is planning to be launched soon.
