Biography
Frederico C. Pereira graduated in Biochemistry at the University of Coimbra, Portugal and completed his PhD in 2007 at Faculty of Medicine University of Coimbra (FMUC). He is associate professor at FMUC.
He is an integrated researcher at Center for Innovative Biomedicine and Biotechnology, University of Coimbra(CIBB), a research consortium including Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology, University of Coimbra (CNC-UC) and Coimbra Institute for Clinical and Biomedical Research (iCBR), Faculty of Medicine, University of Coimbra, Portugal.
His main areas of research are the following:
-Rodent models in neuroscience research (e.g.. drugs of abuse neurotoxicity, PD models, animal models of depression, prediabetes)
-Brain dysfunction and immune system
-Circulating extracellular vesicles and brain diseases
-Physical exercise and neuroprotection/neurorepair strategy
-Neurochemical, glial and behavioral profiling
