Biography
Dr. Mucumbitsi Joseph is a Rwandan scientist specializing in microbiology and public health. His research has focused on septic infections and antibiotic resistance. Dr. Mucumbitsi holds a PhD in Clinical Microbiology, an MPhil, an MSc in Medical Microbiology, and an MSc in Public Health. He has taught and developed skills in medical and life sciences across various institutions, including the University of Gitwe School of Medicine and Biosciences, Singhania University in India, Kibogora Polytechnic School of Biomedical Sciences, INES-Ruhengeri Institute of Applied Sciences in the Biomedical Laboratory Sciences and Biotechnology Department, and currently, at the Adventist University of Central Africa (AUCA) School of Medicine, where he serves as Head of the Microbiology Department and Research Coordinator. His interests lie in microbiology and immunology, critical fields for disease control, hygiene, and sanitation. Dr. Mucumbitsi has supervised BSc, MSc, and PhD students in medical and health sciences and has published extensively in both local and international journals in disciplines such as medical sciences, basic sciences, and the pharmaceutical industry.
