Biography

Norbert Herencsar (1982) received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Electronics & Communication and Teleinformatics from Brno University of Technology (BUT), Czech Republic (CZE), in 2006 and 2010, respectively. In 2015, he was appointed as Associate Professor at the Dept. of Telecommunications of Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication (FEEC), BUT. During Sept. 2009-Feb. 2010 and Feb. 2013-May 2013 he was an Erasmus Exchange student and Visiting Researcher with the Bogazici University, Istanbul, Turkey, respectively, where he was collaborating with Prof. Dr. Oguzhan Cicekoglu. During Feb. 2014-April 2014 he was as Visiting Researcher collaborating with Prof. Dr. I. Cem Goknar and with Prof. Dr. Shahram Minaei at the Dogus University, Istanbul, Turkey. His research interests include analog electronics, new active elements and their applications, low transistor count circuits, fractional-order circuits and systems, MOS-only circuits, oscillators, inductor simulators, capacitance multipliers, and FDNR design. Since 2013 he lectures the "Analog Technology" course for Erasmus+ Exchange students. From publications point of view, he is an author or co-author of 66 research articles published in SCI-E int. journals, 24 articles published in other journals, 100 papers published in proceedings of int. conferences, and 2 university textbooks. In 2011 & 2012, he received Rector Award in the University competition "Top 10 Excelence VUT" for the 9th and 8th most productive scientist at the BUT, category "Publications", respectively. His paper presented at the 7th Int. Conference on Electrical Electronics Engineering - ELECO 2011, Bursa, Turkey, received "The best paper award in memory of Prof. Dr. Mustafa Bayram". In 2008-20011 he was holder of 6 projects supported by MEYS CZE. Since 2011 he was the main holder of grants GPP102/11/P489 and GJ16-11460Y, both funded by Czech Science Foundation (GA CR). Moreover, since 2006 he collaborated as a team member on GA CR grants GA102/06/1383, GA102/09/1681, and GA16-06175S. Currently, he is Management Committee (MC) member of COST Action CA15225 "Fractional-Order Systems; Analysis, Synthesis and Their Importance for Future Design". Since 2008, Dr. Herencsar serves in the Organizing and Technical Program Committee (TPC) of numerous conferences incl. Int. Conf. on Telecommunications and Signal Processing (TSP) of which he served as Deputy-Chair between 2010-2016. Since 2017 he is the General Co-Chair of TSP, technically co-sponsored by IEEE R8. Since 2013, he serves in the TPC of the Int. Conf. on Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ELECO), Bursa, Turkey. In 2015 and 2016, he was Local Arrangement Chair and Publication Chair of Int. Congress on Ultra Modern Telecom. and Control Syst. (ICUMT) in Brno, CZE and Lisbon, Portugal, respectively, technically co-sponsored by IEEE R8. In 2015 and 2016, he serves in the TPCs of 12th IEEE Region 8 AFRICON 2015 Conference, Ethiopia and 23rd Int. Conf. on Systems, Signals and Image Proc. (IWSSIP 2016), Bratislava, Slovakia, respectively. Recently he was the General Co-Chair of the "COST/IEEE-CASS Seasonal Training School in Fractional-Order Systems", Brno, CZE and he will serve as Publication Chair of 2017 24th IEEE Int. Conf. on Electronics, Circuits and Systems (ICECS), organized by IEEE Region 8 CASS in Batumi, Georgia. Since 2014, he is Associate Editor of the Journal of Circuits, Systems and Computers (JCSC) published by World Scientific Publishing (SCI-E).
