Biography

Luís Crisóstomo completed his LSc degree on Biomedical Sciences in 2011. In July of 2013 he finished his MSc Degree on Biomedical Sciences at the University of Beira Interior, Covilhã, Portugal. He completed his PhD student on Biomedical Sciences, at the Biomedical Sciences Institute of Abel Salazar, University of Porto, Porto, Portugal (ICBAS-UP) in 2022. In that same year, Luís started a postdoctoral position at the University of Turku, Finland, in the research group led by Alexander Mildner. Luís main research interests are metabolism and the influence of diet in metabolic disease. Particularly, he is interested on the effects of high-fat diets and associated pathologies (T2D and obesity) in systems metabolism, supported by metabolomics and lipidomics data.
