Prof. Dr. et Ing. habil. Kerstin Eckert is head of the Department of Transport Processes at Interfaces in the Institute of Fluid Dynamics at Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf. Kerstin Eckert is also member of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Technische Universität Dresden and heads the chair of ''Transport Processes at Interfaces'', integrated into the Institute of Process Engineering and Environmental Engineering. She coordinates the European Network on Flotation modeling (NetFlot) and was principle investigator of several microgravity experiments funded by the European Space Agency. After her PhD in experimental physics, Kerstin Eckert engaged in interdisciplinary research projects as a group leader in Aerospace Engineering and Fluid Dynamics, respectively. Kerstin Eckert is married and has three children.
