Associate Professor, Dr. Luther is the Director of Construction Management and former consortium director of MABEL (the Mobile Architecture and Built Environment Laboratory at Deakin University, Geelong Australia. He is a registered architect in Michigan (U.S.A.) and Victoria (Australia). He lectures in the School of Architecture and Built Environment at Deakin University, in graduate and undergraduate courses on energy efficiency, lighting, acoustics and building services as well as a course in Sustainable Future concepts. Through the MABEL program, Dr. Luther has been involved with measuring the Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) as well as the energy performance of over 35 buildings throughout Australia (Darwin to Hobart). Projects have included schools, offices, airports, sports centres, hospitals and houses. MABEL’s projects have partnered with the Australian Greenhouse Office (now DEWHA), Sustainability Victoria, the Department of Human Services, the CSIRO and the Building Commission (Victoria) as well as commercial industry. Dr Luther has produced over 90 papers that have been published in international journals and presented at conferences. He has been invited as a keynote speaker to Europe and the U.S. A. as well as throughout Australia.
