Biography

I am a Senior Lecturer in International Business at Manchester Metropolitan University. My research explores the intersections between international business, global political economy and sustainable development. Specifically, I am interested in the power relations between multinational corporations, governments and international organisations, and how these relations influence development trajectories.

My publications have focussed on global economic governance, the role of industrial policy in attracting and retaining more developmental forms of FDI and the political economy of regionalism and development in Southern Africa. I'm very interested in public policy and my research has impact with the United Nations and FCDO.

This impact was captured in my co-authored Research Impact Case Study, which was rated at 3*/4* in the Research Excellence Framework 2021, and is available here:

My passion for public policy and research impact also led to my role as Faculty Head of Research Impact in 2022-2023.

I am dedicated to teaching and pedagogy, and I currently lead the undergraduate BA (Hons) International Business Management programme. I have previously led the MSc in International Business Management programme.

Prior to returning to academia, I was a project manager with Accenture, in the Boston, US office, working on projects in the US, France, Singapore and India.
