Biography
I'm a Reasercher, working at Institute of Structure of Matter (ISM), National Research Council of Italy (CNR).
My research activity is mainly focused on the design, fabrication and characterization of solid state devices for ionizing radiation and nuclear particle monitoring, along with the development and testing of dedicated front-end and read-out electronics. In particular, I developed single-pixel and multi-pixel detecting systems based on synthetic diamond for X-ray imaging and excimer UV laser imaging, from the device physics analysis (e.g. charge transport, charge collection efficiency) to the technology of the metal electrodes.
Other research activities focus on monocrystalline diamond film microstructuring by femtosecond laser treatment for applications in the field of dosimetry for radiotherapy, and the development of solar energy conversion modules based on photon-enhanced thermionic emission (PETE), as well as of modules for ultra high temperature (UHT) energy storage and conversion.
