Welcome to my ORCID page!
I am a postdoctoral researcher at Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto. My scientific goals are focused in novel functional materials for sustainable and affordable low carbon energy technologies, improvement of chemical reactions and the design of clean processes.
My education and experience has allowed me to develop my technical skills and creativity in the areas of Physical, Materials, Organic and Computational Chemistry.
During my PhD, I evaluated the presence of non-covalent interactions, thermodynamic properties and the electronic effects of benzonitrile derivatives, also known as the building blocks of liquid crystals, bleaching agents and pesticides, by the combination of experimental thermodynamic methods, spectroscopic techniques and several computational approaches.
I was also a team member of the NanotexUP project, an interdisciplinary project that connected the Faculty of Science of the University of Porto, Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto and the Centre for Nanotechnology and Smart Materials (CeNTI). This project aimed to produce new properties to textiles such as fire retardant and water repellent.
