Biography

Ignacio Díaz Blanco is industrial engineer since 1995, and obtained the PhD degree in Engineering from the University of Oviedo in 2000. In 2001 he spent six months at the Aalto University (formerly Helsinki University of Technology) researching on industrial applications of the self-organizing map. Since 2004 he is associate professor at the University of Oviedo, Spain. He has been author or coauthor of more than 80 publications including journals, conferences and book chapters, about dimensionality reduction techniques and data visualization for industrial applications. He has participated in projects with public and private financial support about process analysis and monitoring. His main research interests are intelligent data analysis, visual analytics, control and signal processing and their applications to process analysis and monitoring.
