Piedad Brox received the B.Sc. degree from the University of Cordoba, Spain, in 2002, and the Ph.D. degree (with honors) from the University of Seville, Spain, in 2009, both in physics. Since 2002, she has been with the Instituto de Microelectronica de Sevilla (IMSE-CNM-CSIC), or with the University of Seville. From 2008 to 2010, she was part-time professor at the Electronics and Electromagnetism Department of the University of Seville. She was a Postdoctoral Researcher under the “Juan de la Cierva” programme funded by the Spanish Government from Jan. 2011 until Dec. 2013. Recently, she has obtained a temporary post-doctoral position funded by “V Plan Propio de Investigación” from the University of Seville. Her research areas include the design and implementation of neuro-fuzzy systems and its application in image processing, and digital implementation of embedded controllers.
