Associate professor in the Department of Romance Studies of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ostrava, Czech Republic. Courses in general and French linguistics and supervision of BA, MA and PhD. theses in the field of French linguistics.

Previously employed in the Department of Romance languages of the Faculty of Arts of Palacký University in Olomouc, Czech Republic, and in the Department of Romance languages of the Faculty of Arts of Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica, Slovak Republic.

Professional interests: terminology, semantics, sociolinguistics, French-speaking countries.

Authorship or coauthorship of ten monographs and some sixty articles on French and general linguistics.

Editor-in-chief of the international linguistic journal Studia Romanistica (SCOPUS, ERIH PLUS, EBSCO, Brill Linguistic Bibliography, MIAR, Index Copernicus International, and DOAJ).
