Biography

Zhifeng Gao is a Professor in the Food and Resource Economics department, at the University of Florida. Gao's research program aims to enhance understanding of the factors that affect individual behavior related to food choice and agriculture technology. He has published more than 88 articles in journals such as Food Policy, American Journal of Agricultural Economics, Ecological Economics, Appetite, Food Quality, and Preference, etc. Gao teaches three courses at graduate levels. He has served on the committee of 67 graduate students, chairing/co-chairing 27 of them. Gao has contributed to the profession through various activities, such as serving on the department graduate curriculum committee and admission committee, the editorial board of journals, and chairing the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association (AAEA) employment center committee. Gao is also the recipient of the 2021 AAEA Distinguished Teaching Award (more than 10 years of graduate teaching) and the 2021-2022 CALS Graduate Teacher/Advisor of the Year Award, University of Florida.
