Biography

Soila Lemmetty got her master's degree in adult education (JYU, Faculty of Education and Psychology) 2016 and doctoral degree in 2020. In her PhD, she examined self-directed workplace learning in technology-based work. She has worked in the Department of Education as a project researcher, research coordinator, doctoral researcher, university teacher and postdoctoral researcher. In addition, she has worked as a coordinator at the Institute of Educational Leadership and at the Open University of University of Jyväskylä, and as a research coordinator at the Jyväskylä University School of Business and Economics. At the moment, Soila is working as a university researcher in University of Eastern Finland. She leds her Postdoctoral Research project Employee-Driven Learning and Innovation (EDLI) funded by Academy of Finland. Her research focuses on the areas of learning, innovation and wellbeing at work.

Soila is a section editor in the Finnish Journal of Working Life Studies (Työelämäntutkimus -lehti) and a Junior Member of the International Society for the Study of Creativity and Innovation (ISSCI). She has also a membership in the HR and ODC divisions of the Academy of Management.
