Biography
𝐃𝐫 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐲 𝐎𝐥𝐚𝐰𝐮𝐦𝐢 is an RICS Chartered Surveyor and registered member of the Hong Kong Green Building Council, Green Building Council Nigeria, BIMAfrica, and Hong Kong Institute of Project Management. He also holds the Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). He serves on the Editorial Board of 6 reputable and international journals (four of which are SCI-indexed (Web of Science), including a Springer Nature journal & Heliyon Engineering [Elsevier]). He is also an active reviewer for 55 international and renowned journals, of which 43 journals are SCI-indexed (Publons).
Timothy’s research is generally interdisciplinary in nature. It emphasizes the application of digital technologies (BIM, Industry 4.0 [𝐴𝐼, 𝑏𝑖𝑔 𝑑𝑎𝑡𝑎, 𝑏𝑙𝑜𝑐𝑘𝑐ℎ𝑎𝑖𝑛, 𝑐𝑙𝑜𝑢𝑑 𝑠𝑦𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑚𝑠], GIS, RFID, etc.) and data-driven techniques in construction management and engineering issues. His research interests include construction management, Building Information Modelling (BIM), green buildings and sustainability, blockchain technology, modular integrated construction/offsite construction, sustainable construction and informatics, supply chain management, construction informatics, smart cities, and digital engineering.
He is a recipient of multiple prestigious and international 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 (across Asia, Africa, and Europe). Recently, he was recognised as one of the “𝐓𝐨𝐩 𝟐𝟓 𝐎𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬” globally in the field of sustainability (𝑎𝑐𝑟𝑜𝑠𝑠 𝑎𝑙𝑙 𝑓𝑖𝑒𝑙𝑑𝑠) by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research for his works on technological solutions to sustainability challenges. He is also ranked among the 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝’𝐬 𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝟐% 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭-𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬 by Elsevier BV and Stanford University.
With over 70 published and well-cited research articles, he has contributed to digitalising the built environment and climate-friendly practices. He is also a 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐫 for key UK funding bodies like UKRI - EPSRC, ESRC, MRC, etc.
