Manuel de la Villa is Computer Engineer, Software Engineering Lecturer and Researcher in the field of Information Retrieval and Text Mining.
It is dedicated to the world of Higher Education and Training since 2001, collaborating with the EOI (Escuela de Organización Industrial), teaching 'I Advanced Course Training Information Technology and Communication', aimed at graduates.
He joined the University of Huelva in 2002. Since then teaches courses in Software Engineering (Planning, Analysis and Design of Software Projects) and conducts his research in Information Retrieval and Text Mining, especially in the biomedical field, having made several publications in journals, contributions to conferences and participated in several research projects and research contracts with companies.
He had previously spent his career in the field of Information Systems development since 1996.
He begins working as a developer of proprietary applications and enterprise helpdesk in Arion Consulting. From there it goes to the Data Processing Center of CECOFAR (Pharmaceutical Cooperative Centre), Pharmaceutical Distribution Andalusian company with over 350 employees, turnover of more than 4.4 M€ (data 2000). Performs work of analysis and application programming, mainly in the distribution and accounting applications, specializing in supporting departments Farmacuenta (Virtual Bank), Treasury and HR Integrates Unycop later, where he has responsibility in the migration process to SAP/R3.
During his time as an undergraduate, he worked 4 summers at 'El Monte' (now 'Banca Civica")
