JPB is an aggregate Professor at the Azores University, Portugal. He has a Ph.D in Biology/Animal Ecology and Aggregation in Ethology.
Main fields of interest are ecology/biology of marine and other aquatic predators (Acanthopterygii, Chondrichthyes, Serpentes and Crocodylia).
Born in Lisbon, 1964 from a Macanese family and living in Angra do Heroísmo, Azores, PT since 1984.
Main international works are focused in the Azores, W Atlantic (mostly Brazilian coasts), Amazonian basin and Gulf of Guinea (W Africa).
More recently he started studying and researching on human-wildlife interactions throughout the world.
