Biography
Professor Pedro Torres, Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University of Lisbon, is presently an Adjunct Professor at the Polytechnic University of Castelo Branco. Additionally, he is an integrated researcher at SYSTEC - Research Center for Systems and Technologies, Institute of Systems and Robotics – ISR Porto and ARISE – Advanced Production and Intelligent Systems Associated Laboratory, hosted at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP).
With over 60 indexed publications across various fields such as Automation and Robotics, Machine Learning/Deep Learning, electronics, and Cyber-Physical Systems, Professor Pedro Torres brings extensive expertise to his research endeavours. His current research focus lies in the realm of Industry 4.0 technologies, emphasizing the coordination of diverse projects and the transfer of knowledge and technology to industries in this domain.
He serves as a reviewer for European projects for the European Commission in the areas of automation, robotics, and artificial intelligence.
Proficient in research and coordination, he has contributed to numerous projects funded by entities such as FCT, P2020, CENTRO2020, Horizon2020, H2020 Eureka, PRR, and industry support projects.
