Biography

Dr. Blanca Velasco Arroyo holds a PhD in Biotechnology and Genetic Resources of Plants and associated Microorganisms. She has developed her research career within the reference Severo Ochoa “Centro de Biotecnología y Genómica de Plantas” (CBGP-UPM-INIA) and Universidad de Burgos (UBU), currently as PosDoc Researcher at ICCRAM. The main topics have been related with agriculture, either basic and applied research, developed under the framework of 6 projects: 3 national, 3 international (currently at GREENER https://www.greener-h2020.eu/en/normal/home), and 1 collaborative agreement with a private company. She has worked in multidisciplinary teams also in foreign research groups (in United Kingdom and in Argentina), gaining knowledge about science, while improving soft skills and capacities of adaptation and collaboration in changing working environments. Concerning the scientific production, she has 8 SCI scientific publications (6 regular scientific articles and 2 reviews), 7 of them published in Q1 journals of the respective area, 3 Book chapters. Besides, she holds a management profile in relation with H2020 and other internatinal Programmes, since Blanca has been part of the Knowdledge Transfer Office at UBU, dealing with the promotion of UBU´´ research to enhance its international dimension, by supporting research teams on writing proposals and with management issues. Since Blanca owns a Degree in Technical Agricultural Sciences, specialized in agri industries, and other High Degree in Environmental Sciences, she exhibits a versatile profile to adapt to an extense portfolio of projects and research topics. Finally, concerning the teaching profile, she has taught in two High Degrees (Biotechnology, and Engineering and Agronomics Sciences) during 4 academic courses along the PhD at UPM, and during 1 academic course in the High Degree of Science and Food Technology at UBU.
