Biography
Raquel Castro Madureira was born in Aveiro in 1972, is married and has three children. She received the degree of Doctor in Electrotechnics at the University of Aveiro in 2015, where she had already completed her bachelor's and master's studies (pre Bologna) in Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering in 1995 and 1998 respectively. She is a visiting assistant professor at University of Aveiro (UA) in Portugal.
She started his professional activity in 1995 as a scientific research fellow at the Instituto de Telecomunicações de Aveiro. She had a brief stint at the beginning of 1998 at Philips Portuguesa, Industrial Section of Ovar as a Product Engineer and Project Leader.
In May 1998, she joined Mainroad Telecomunicações, which would later be renamed OPTIMUS and later SONAE.COM She was a radio planning, dimensioning and optimization engineer, becoming the coordinator of the radio access engineering team at SONAE.COM, where she remained until October 2008.
From 2008 to 2013, during his PhD course, he taught several subjects at the University of Aveiro at the Escola Superior de Saúde, Instituto Superior de Contabilidade e Administração de Aveiro (ISCAA) and Dep of Political Sciences and DepElectronics, Telecommunications and Informatics.
From 2008 to 2009 she was a founding partner and manager of the telecommunications consulting company, Radio Network Services and Systems, RN2S, Lda and co-creator of the ESCUTAR PORTUGAL brand - georeferenced audio guides that she placed in all FNACS in Portugal.
In the 2013-2017 term, she was elected mayor as Executive Councilor in the Aveiro City Council with the following responsibilities: Environment and Quality; Youth, Seniors and Entrepreneurship and Housing. She was representative of the municipality of Aveiro on the governing board of the association of the municipalities of Carvoeiro, in the Informatics association of the central region (AIRC), President of the strategic board of Reserva S. Jacinto, member of the CPCJ restricted committee and member of the board of directors of ERSUC. He created and organized events of a National nature, participated in European projects and promoted synergies with the University of Aveiro in several areas. She was a candidate for the European Parliament for the district of Aveiro in May2019.
She was the District Delegate of Aveiro of the National Portuguese Engineers Association for the 2019-2022 triennium.
During her professional career, Engª published several scientific articles and co-authored a book chapter and invited speaker.
