Biography

I am professor of the Department of Information and Communication Science at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). Moreover, I am member of the research group i2TIC (UOC) focused on the interdisciplinary analysis of the interaction between ICT use and information, communication and knowledge flow on individuals and organizations. My dedication to research is focused now on finishing my Phd about advertising law.

From 2010, I am also associated professor of "Communication Law" at Universitat Ramon Llull (URL) and I have beeen associated professor of "Advertising Law" at Universitat Pompeu Fabra.

I have a degree in Advertising and Public Relations (URL) and a degree in Law (Universitat de Barcelona) and I have complemented my university education with two postgraduate courses, one specialized in crisis communication and the other one in account direction in advertising agencies, both hold in the Facultat de Comunicació Blanquerna from the URL.

For three years (1999-2002) I had a grant for researching in the Advertising and Public Relactions Department at URL, where I started my PhD studies in Communication and Humanities, focusing my research in the field of business communication for pharmaceutical industry.

My professional career has been always linked to healthcare practice of Weber Shandwick, one of the world's leading public relations and communications management firms, where until the 2005 I developed tasks of senior account executive working in communication programmes for pharmaceutical companies.
