Biography
Sandrina Milhano was awarded a PhD in Education from Roehampton University and a Master's in Arts of Music Education from Surrey/Roehampton University, UK. She has a degree and a postgraduate degree in Musical Sciences from Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Portugal. She undertook postgraduate studies in Spain at the University of Salamanca, where she obtained a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Music. She was awarded the title specialist in training educators and primary school teachers in music. Associate Professor at the School of Education and Social Sciences in the Polytechnic of Leiria where she is currently school head of the Arts, Creativity and Culture department. She is an integrated researcher at the Centre for Studies in Education and Innovation (Ci&DEI). She was Dean of the School of Education and Social Sciences (2017-2021) and has had several coordinating roles at the Polytechnic of Leiria and other external entities. Currently, she is director of the Master in Artistic Intervention and Animation and, is a member of the scientific and pedagogical commissions of the Master in Preschool Education and Teaching in the 1. st Cycle of Education, Master in Preschool Education and, Master in Education and Pedagogical Innovation. She is a Member of the Unesco Chair team at the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria - Arts and Culture Management, Cities and Creativity, a member of the UNESCO Club for Innovation and Cultural Development in IPLeiria, and President of Red Internacional de Derecho Educativo (RIIDE Portugal). She supervised 36 MSc dissertations and participated in research in regional and international projects. She has been involved in the Erasmus projects Orienta4YEL - Supporting educational and social inclusion of early youth leavers and youth at risk of early leaving through mechanisms of orientation and tutorial action (604501-EPP-1-2018-1-ES-EPPKA3-IPI-SOC-IN) and Regional University Network European University (RUN-EU 1.0 and RUN-EU 2.0), which focus on the future and advanced skills needs and the promotion of flexible transnational mobility of students, innovative pedagogies and blended learning activities. She is currently working on the Erasmus projects Orienta4VET: an attractive and viable pathway - Innovating in VET through guidance processes and exploring flexible and diversified opportunities in VET and, RUN-EU 2.0.
