Biography
Dr. Alina Romanovska is associate professor and senior researcher at the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences at Daugavpils University (Latvia). She is an expert of the Latvian Council of Science in the commission “Humanities and Arts” in the research area “Linguistics and Literary Science,” and in the commission “Social Sciences” in the research area "Education Sciences". She has managed and/or participated in several national and international research projects, among them FP7 MYPLACE, FP7 MYWEB, H2020 ECDP, H2020 CHIEF, National Research programme project Letonika. She has experience in a trans-cultural qualitative research measuring cultural activity, political participation and civic engagement of young people. Her research interests are cultural anthropology (with a particular focus on post-socialist societies), identity, borderstudies, comparative literature. She is the author of the monograph and more than 100 research articles.
