Biography

PhD in Economics from the University of Alicante with distinction cum laude and mention of International PhD. Currently, I hold a teaching position at the University os Alicante (although I have already obtained accreditation as a "contracted doctor").

My career started at the University of Alicante (UA) and the University College of Cork (UCC) where I studied the degree in Economics. Furthermore, I delved into the economic’s field studying the master’s degree in Applied Economics at the University of Alicante.

My doctoral research, which was funded by the Spanish State Research Agency (Plan Estatal de investigación Científica y Técnica y de Innovación 2017-2020), focused on the analysis of commuting using microdata, as well as studying the impact of local labour market characteristics on female employment. The disertation was directly linked to the project: CS02017-86474-R "New developments in the territorial analysis of the labour market. Local labour markets and daily mobility". In this regard, my dissertation entitled "Tres ensayos empíricos sobre la movilidad cotidiana residencia-trabajo y mercados locales de trabajo" deals with issues related to the daily mobility of different groups, as the analysis of the regional characteristics that influence their employability based on the Local Labour Markets to which they belong. In order to carry it out, I have done research stays at the Department of Applied Economics of the University of Oviedo with Professor Matías Mayor Fernández and at the Dipartimento di Scienze Economiche of the University of Bologna with Professor Roberto Patuelli, besides training courses in econometric analysis techniques with individual data and techniques of spatial data analysis, including: spatial economic analysis course taught in the master's degree in economic analysis instruments (University of Oviedo) or Spatial econometric analysis with status and R (Autonomous University of Madrid).

I have presented on these topics at numerous conferences,national and international (including ERSA and RSA), and published several articles. Furthermore, I am a member of the working team of different national research projects ("Local labour markets and commuting. New challenges" (PID2020-114896RB-I00, Agencia Estatal de Investigación, Spanish National R&D&I Program - Research Challenges) (2021-2024) and "Commuting and functional areas in the region of Valencia: theoretical and methodological challenges" (AICO/2021/062, Conselleria de Innovación, Universidades, Ciencia y Sociedad Digital, Generalitat Valenciana R&D&I Program, consolidated research groups) (2021-2023)) and European ("Sutainable and techonological approach to rethink tourims (START)" or "Economic contribution study for Jamaica (CariPI)" among others).
