Biography
He was born in Athens (1952). With successive scholarships he studied at the Italian School of Athens (1964-1970), the National University of Athens (1970-1974), the École Pratique des Hautes Études (1974- 1975), in Paris, and the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales, also in Paris too, where he obtained the D.E.A. (Diplôme d'études approfondies) in 1976 and was proclaimed Doctor of History in 1978. He has been the archivist of the President of the Hellenic Republic (1980-1982), Lecturer and Asssistant Professor of Diplomatic History at the Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki (1982-1994), Director of the Museum of the City of Athens (Vouros-Eutaxias Foundation) as well as Professor of History at the Naval War College (1990-1997) and the Naval Academy (1994-1997). During the years 2004-2011 he was acting director to the "Historical Institute of Studies on Eleutherios Venizelos and his Era" (Athens). Now he is academic advisor to Institute of Hellenic Maritime History (Piraeus) and Professor of History (voluntary) at the University of the People (Athens).
