Biography
Carlo S. Casari is Full Professor of Physics of Matter at Politecnico di Milano, Italy.
Born in 1974, he graduated in Electronic Engineering at Politecnico di Milano in 1999. 2000-2001 he had a research fellowship from the National Institute for Physics of Matter (INFM) and in 2004 he got his Ph.D. in Materials Engineering working on the deposition and in situ characterization of cluster assembled carbon films and on structural, morphological and nanomechanical properties of carbon-based nanostructured materials. 2004-2005 he had a post doc position at Politecnico di Milano, in 2005 he got a permanent position as assistant professor at Politecnico di Milano, 2014-2019 as Associate Professor and after getting the National Qualification in Experimental Physics of Matter he was apppointed as full professor in 2019. Since 2004 he is member of the MIUR Center of Excellence for NanoEngineered Materials and Surfaces (NEMAS). Since 2009 he is at the Department of Energy at Politecnico di Milano where he is conducting his research and teaching activity. He is PI of the ERC Consolidator Grant project EspLORE (2017-2022) and of the ERC PoC Project PROTECHT.
