Biography

Joe Frand Llerena Izquierdo (Guayaquil – Ecuador, 1975). Guayaquil – Ecuador), Es Ingeniero en Computación por la Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral y Magister en Sistemas de Información Gerencial. Además, es Máster en Administración de Empresas y Máster en Ciencias de la Educación por la Universidad Politécnica Salesiana. Desde 1995 se ha dedicado a la docencia en instituciones de educación media y educación superior, siendo actualmente docente de la Universidad Politécnica Salesiana en Ecuador. Es investigador de la sede Guayaquil, en la Carrera Ingeniería en Computación. Es miembro de la Sección Ecuador del IEEE Región 9 desde el año 2008. Junto a los jóvenes de las carreras de ingeniería ha participado en la creación de la Rama Estudiantil IEEE de la sede Guayaquil en la Universidad Politécnica Salesiana en el año 2009. Es miembro del Computer Society IEEE y miembro de la IEEE Education Society. Fue coordinador de Actividades Estudiantiles Universitarias (SAC) de la Sección Ecuador IEEE R9 del 2010 al 2012. Desde el 2014 es coordinador del Grupo de Investigación en Enseñanza y Aprendizaje de las Ciencias para la Ingeniería (GIEACI) de la Universidad Politécnica Salesiana en la ciudad de Guayaquil, Ecuador. Desde el 2019 pertenece al Grupo de Innovación educativa Tecnologías de la Información y Comunicaciones en el proceso de enseñanza – aprendizaje Gie-Ticea. En 2023 alcanza el rango honorario de Senior Member otorgado por la IEEE Professional Members en reconocimiento a la excelencia técnica y profesional.

Joe Frand Llerena Izquierdo (Guayaquil - Ecuador, 1975). Guayaquil - Ecuador), He is a Computer Engineer from the Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral and holds a Master's Degree in Management Information Systems. He also holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration and a Master's Degree in Educational Sciences from the Universidad Politécnica Salesiana. Since 1995 he has been dedicated to teaching in secondary and higher education institutions, and is currently a professor at the Universidad Politécnica Salesiana in Ecuador. He is a researcher at the Guayaquil campus, in the Computer Engineering Career. He is a member of the Ecuador Section of IEEE Region 9 since 2008. Together with the young people of the engineering careers, he has participated in the creation of the IEEE Student Branch of the Guayaquil headquarters at the Universidad Politécnica Salesiana in 2009. He is a member of the IEEE Computer Society and a member of the IEEE Education Society. He was coordinator of University Student Activities (SAC) of the IEEE R9 Ecuador Section from 2010 to 2012. Since 2014 he has been coordinator of the Research Group on Engineering Science Teaching and Learning (GIEACI) of the Universidad Politécnica Salesiana in the city of Guayaquil, Ecuador. Since 2019 he belongs to the Group of Educational Innovation Information and Communication Technologies in the teaching-learning process Gie-Ticea. In 2023 he reaches the honorary rank of Senior Member awarded by the IEEE Professional Members in recognition of technical and professional excellence.
