Biography

Francisco Medel received his MS in Physics in 1998 as well as his PhD degree in Materials Science in 2005 from University of Zaragoza (Spain). He completed his training in Materials Science as a Post-Doctoral researcher in Drexel University School of Biomedical Engineering Science and Health Systems (Philadelphia, USA). In 2008 he earned a Research Assistant Professor position in Drexel University, and back in Spain, he has held different positions as professor in academia. Currently, he serves as Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Zaragoza (Spain). His areas of expertise include biomaterials, UHMWPE, hip and knee retrievals, mechanical properties, and microstructure, among others.
