Biography
Juan Luis Leon-Llamas is a substitute professor at the University of Extremadura (UEx). He teaches master's and degree courses at the Faculty of Sport Science, ranked number 1 nationally and number 13 internationally according to the 2023 Global Ranking of Shangai Sport Science Schools and Departments. He graduated in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences (UEx), obtaining the second-best grade in the promotion. He received a collaboration grant from the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Sport (2017/2018). Master in Teacher Training in Secondary Education (specializing in Physical Education) (UEx). Professional Expert in Dance Psychopedagogy and Performer Techniques (UEx). Master in Health Promotion through Physical Activity and Ph.D. in Sport Sciences "Cum Laude" (UEx) through a predoctoral research contract from the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Sport (FPU) analyzing and evaluating by brain imaging and electroencephalography the influence of physical activity on brain and cognitive function in people with fibromyalgia.
Other lines of research: analysis of eye movement through eye tracking technology, the influence of dual-task through artistic and creative activities on quality of life and mental health in people with chronic pain. Other lines of research of interest: pedagogical models in Physical Education, applications through creative arts. Complementary: He has received numerous choreographic training courses, workshops, and training in contemporary dance and participated in the Festival À Corps (France) training program of dance and performance (4 years). Professor in the university course "Laboratory of contemporary dance: interconnectivity and its bodies as indiscipline" (UEx) and Professor in the university course "Laboratory of contemporary dance on intercorporality.
He has produced 22 scientific publications, more than 40 participations in national and international congresses, 2 book chapters, 2 participations in projects, 2 participations in research contracts, a research stay at the University of Évora (3 months). He has been part of the Scientific and Organizing Committee of 6 international congresses. In addition, he has reviewed 5 scientific studies in different journals (4 indexed in JCR and 1 out of index). He has directed, organized, and participated in various scientific dissemination events (European Night of Researchers, Desayuna con la Ciencia, Jornada de Puertas Abiertas, and the La Feria Educativa).
