Biography

I am an ecosystem scientist looking at the interactions between plant and soil microbial communities through N cycling in a variety of ecosystems (i.e. wetlands, alpine and subalpine grasslands, treeline, snow-soil interface, rivers, and lakes,...). My background ranges from soil science, superficial hydrology, functional ecology to agronomy. I have experience in the use of stable N and O isotopes to trace sources, sinks and processes of N cycling. I acted as a PI for, or participated to, app. 20 projects (EU, NSF, ANR…), and supervised app. 12 grad. students and 9 Ph.D students. Recently, I have been leading the French team involved in a 4-yrs EraNet Joint Biodiversa/FACCE-JPI project (Eco-Serve). I lead a workpackage of an on-going ANR Project (TransAlp) looking at N, P, C losses and gains of warmed alpine grassland. I am acting as Deputy Director of the CARRTEL (Alpine Research Center on Trophic Networks and Limnic Ecosystems) the director of the Graduate School in Sciences, Engineering and Environment at the University of Savoie Mont Blanc, France.
