Biography
Dr Michael T. Gastner is Associate Professor for Information and Communication Technologies at the Singapore Institute of Technology.
He received the Ph.D. in physics from the University of Michigan. He was postdoctoral fellow at the Santa Fe Institute, the Computer Science Department of the University of New Mexico and the University of Oldenburg’s Institute for Chemistry and Biology of the Marine Environment. After a Junior Research Fellowship at Imperial College London and a Lectureship in Engineering Mathematics at the University of Bristol, he spent two years at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in Budapest. Afterwards, he moved to Singapore, where he held an Assistant Professorship at Yale-NUS College before he joined the Singapore Institute of Technology.
His current research interests are at the intersection of mathematical modelling, computer science and geospatial data analysis.
