Biography

Medical Doctor from the University of Pernambuco (1974), Specialization in Hematology, Hospital Saint-Louis, Université de Paris VII (1979); Fellow-Research at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School-Hammersmith Hospital, London (1984-1988) and PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology from the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation, Rio de Janeiro (FIOCRUZ,1991). Visiting Research at New York Blood Center, NY (1996-1999). She is currently a medical researcher at the National Cancer Institute and Principal Investigator of the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Program. He has experience in the clinical pathology, with emphasis on childhood leukemia, acting mainly on the following topics: early-age leukemias, molecular-epidemiology, etiopathogenesis of infant leukemia. Head of the Brazilian Network of Childhood Leukemia Diagnostics. Participate in the Childhood Leukemia International Consortium studies.
