Biography
Bernadete Bittencourt has a PhD in Economic and Organisational Sociology from the University of Lisbon and a degree in Business Administration from the Federal University of Bahia. She is currently an Adjunct Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança in the School of Communication, Administration and Tourism (EsACT/IPB), and Director of the Degree in Management and Public Administration (EsACT-IPB). She is a researcher at the Education Research Centre (CIEB), the Governance, Competitiveness and Public Policies Research Unit (GOVCOPP) and a researcher at the Social Sciences and Management Research Unit (CSG/ULisboa). Her main research interests centre on public administration, social innovation, social economy, circular economy, public policies, local administration, local governance, sustainable local development policy, the third sector, with a particular interest in rural development policy. She has published in books, scientific journals and given several presentations at conferences. She is also an ad hoc reviewer for some scientific journals and a consultant for postgraduate scientific councils in Brazil. She also has experience in consultancy in the areas of public administration, sustainable local development and micro-entrepreneurship.
