Biography
ANA VICO holds a degree in History with a specialization in Archaeology at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, a Ph.D. in Finance (2010), and in History (2015) in Universidad Rey Juan Carlos. She is a Corresponding Academician of the Royal Academy of History.
She has worked in art auction houses in New York, Zurich, London, and Madrid. After joining the University in 2006, first as an associate, and then in their academic career, to her current position as Associate Professor, where she currently directs the master’s degree in Art Market Management.
She focuses her research and publications on numismatics, archaeology, and the field of Economics of Culture in areas such as the art market, cultural industries, and management of Historical Heritage, bringing together various disciplines on which she has more than 130 publications. Focus her research on such a specialized and technical subject has allowed her to participate in international research projects focused on the fight against Money Laundering and the financing of Organized Crime, financed by the European Commission, NATO, and other institutions.
The researcher has published 17 articles in indexed journals, 60 in specialized journals, 15 books, and 31 book chapters. She has supervised two Ph.D. and lectured more than 80 papers and conferences in different universities and institutions in Spain and abroad.
She has organized more than forty courses, seminars, and research conferences. From the point of view of research quality, she has a Six-Year Research Fellowship granted in 2016 and a Three-Year Research Fellowship granted in 2015. She is a reviewer for national and international journals and a speaker at congresses and conferences.
