Biography

Patricia Abril-Jimenez received the professional Engineer degree in Telecommunications Engineering in 2007 from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), and a Magister of Biomedical Engineering degree (with honours) in 2010 also from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. In 2019 she received the PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM).
She is currently a senior researcher at Life Supporting Technologies Group at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), Spain, where she has worked on Active and Healthy Ageing (AHA) solutions, for early detection of functional decline. She also participates in AHA solutions applied to other intelligent environment such as Industry 4.0. Her present research activity is primarily oriented toward the development of solutions for increasing workability of aged workers.
