Biography
Annamaria Silvana de Rosa, PhD
• Full Professor of Social Representations and Communication with laboratory on Web-Marketing and New Media at the Faculty of Medicine and Psychology, Sapienza University of Rome, Italy until her retirement on 1-11-2020.
• Creator (since 1993), Coordinator (since its implementation in 1996) and Director of the Eu-approved European/International Joint PhD in Social Representations and Communication (since the designation in 2010 of Serge Moscovici, 1st former Director, as Honorary Director) (http://www.europhd.eu).
Awarding a mutually recognized “European doctoral diploma” under the joint signatures of the rectors of the network universities, the European/International Joint PhD in Social Representations and Communication, since 1993 has been approved by the European Commission (DG-Education and Culture and DG - Research) as well as by the Ministries for Scientific Research and Higher Education of Italy, France, the Czech Republic and Romania and sponsored by the French social sciences Foundation Maison des Sciences de l'Homme (FMSH). Fully operational since 1996, the original network of 13 European universities has since grown to 28 universities, research institutes and SMEs in 18 countries around the world. 17 universities in 10 European countries (AT, CZ, FR, IT, PT, RO, SK, ES, CH, UK) and 7 universities from North America, Latin America and China, 1 national research institute (IFSTTAR, Universitè Eiffel) in France; 1 social sciences foundation (FMSH) and 3 enterprises partners in Netherland, Italy and Sweden. Among them 16 associated partners have been chosen for the PEOPLE-ITN SoReComJoint-IDP project (13 universities, 2 private companies, 1 national research institute IFSTTAR with intensive and extensive cooperation with the private sector) in 8 European countries (Austria, Czech Republic, France, Italy, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland) and in 6 extra-European countries (Argentina, Brazil, Canada, China, Mexico, United States). Within the FP7 PEOPLE-ITN-2013 programme, the SoReComJoint-IDP project has been selected as being the best among the 1147 submitted proposals, obtaining mark of 98,80/100 (threshold: 70/100). Since her retirement on 1st November 2020, as Honorary Director of the European/International Joint PhD in Social Representations and Communication, she is taking care of its institutional continuity and development at the leading Institution Sapienza University of Rome (Italy) and at all partner Institutions. On the basis of new letter of endorsement signed since end of 2020 and 2021-2022 the network has been even enlarged to new collaborative partners in other countries/continents, including in Europe a new signatory Institution in Hungary, and other three partner Universities in France (Paris), in Portugal (Coimbra) and in Malta; in Latino America: in Brazil (Uberlândia), in Argentina with two new partner Institutions (both in Buenos Aires); in Asia: another University in Tianjin (China) and the Indonesian Center of Social Representations Studies in Jakarta (Indonesia); and in Africa with the Univ. of Johannesburg (ongoing process).
The European/International Joint PhD in Social Representations and Communication programme has been identified as an example of ‘best practices’ in higher education by the European Commission Directorate for Education and Culture, by the Italian and French Ministry for Scientific Research and Higher Education. In 2010 an award for the best paper has been released by the Joiman EC Project – Task Force 4 to the Scientific Coordinator of the European/International Joint PhD in Social Representations and Communication for the following paper: de Rosa, A.S. • Positions of institution-wide responsibility role for international doctoral education, as:
o member of the Board of Sapienza Directors of the International Relations since 1992
o Director of Sapienza Coordination Program for International Doctorates , since its creation in 2009
o Sapienza Rector’s Delegate for EUA-CDE Council of Doctoral Education, since its inception, after having been designated in 2004 by the European University Association (EUA) as the main coordinator of the “Network of Networks” project, part of their Europe wide study on the status and future of doctoral education. Among many activities, she was invited to organize the EUA-CDE Working Group on the Internationalisation of Doctorate and International Joint Doctorate in March 2010 at the Eu/International Joint PhD in Social Representations and Communication Research Centre and Multimedia Lab.
