Biography

Maria Ekström holds a Phd in Economics with an emphasis on consumer culture and consumer marketing. During her career she has held positions as a marketing lecturer, e-learning developer (virtual university), information specialist/ pedagogic developer and project manager, mainly in academic institutions (Hanken School of Economics, Arcada University of Applied Sciences, Aalto University and Laurea University of Applied Sciences). She was also responsible for developing entrepreneurship skills and an entrepreneurial culture at Laurea UAS where she is working as a principal lecturer at Laurea University of Applied Sciences. In this position she is responsible for a Master of Business Administration programme (Leading Sustainable business growth). Maria Ekström has an excellent knowledge of the following languages: Swedish, Finnish, English, French and German.
