Biography

Jeanmarie Higgins is Professor and Chair of the Theatre Arts and Dance department at the University of Texas at Arlington, Drama Editor for the International Journal of Education and the Arts, and editor and co-editor of several essay collections about performance pedagogy. Her journal essays and performance reviews appear in such publications as the Journal of Dramatic Theory and Criticism, Theatre Topics, SDC Journal, Howlround, and Theatre Journal. A new works dramaturg, Jeanmarie has worked with artists such as AGA Collaborative, Martha Graham Dance Company, the #HereToo Project, and People's Light. Jeanmarie is the 2021 recipient of the Oscar Brockett Award for Outstanding Teaching from the Association for Theatre in Higher Education.
